What Time Is It

Ecclesiastes 3:1

There is a time for everything….

Do you ever feel you’re running out of time?  Do you ever wish you had more time? The Bible hints that time is like a vapor that soon vanishes, flowers that fade, and grass that withers.

Whether or not we like to admit it, each of us is running out of time.  Our days are numbered.  In Job we read, “Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with you, you have appointed his bounds that he cannot pass…” While I can’t increase the quantity of my time, I can sure work on the quality of my time.

Warren Buffet said, “Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”  What can I do with my time?  Plant a tree...invest time in someone else, encourage a friend, love the unlovable, forgive, show Christ’s love.  Do something that will outlive you.

One of these days when I’m older, when I have more time, when the children are older, when life isn’t so busy - One of these days I’m going to be a better husband, a better wife, a better father, a better mother, more loving, more kind.  One of these days.

What time is it?  It’s time to plant a tree.  Do something that’ll make a difference.  Time is short.

Michael Mason - May 2018 Newsletter

Friends,
It’s been a great spring so far.  Each week has been an adventure of preaching and seeing God work in the lives of people hungry to know Him, eager to be in His will, and anxious to be a part of His work.  I’ve had such freedom to preach.  While apathy and complacency are still prevalent in many churches, I am seeing sparks of revival that I haven’t seen in years. I am trusting God for an awakening, a stirring, a reviving  and that only He can send.  I hope you’ll pray with me…
I am in El Salvador this month.  I’m teaching the subject, Sermon Development, to two groups of pastors in two different cities.  I am thankful for the opportunity. It is a work to which I believeI God has called me.  I will be going to El Salvador twice more this fall and, schedule permitting, I will also help lead a pastors conference in Guatemala this fall.   Would you be interested in helping me take this training to pastors in El Salvador?  Each trip, including the conference and airfare is approximately $2000.  Pray about it and then give as God leads you.  Thanks….
If you are interested in having me come speak at your church or church event I am available for revival meetings, harvest days, retreats, conferences, or any thing you may be planning where you need someone to present the Gospel message.

Stay On Your Side Of The Fence

Proverbs 3:6
Proverbs 3:6 has been my life verse for most of my Christian journey.  It has been my North Star, my road map, my hope, and my peace of mind. I have learned to “acknowledge”Him in everything – to look for God in every situation.
Imagine with me, as I build a fence down the middle of Proverbs 3:6.  On one side of the fence we read, “In all your ways acknowledge Him.”  On the other side of the fence we read, “And He will direct your paths.”  One side of the fence is God’s business and the other side is my business.  Many of us struggle with staying on our side of the fence.  Too many times I have jumped the fence and tried to do God’s job. I have only one job: Acknowledge Him…in everything.
Another way of looking at this verse is to give God the pen and let Him write our story. That’s not always easy to do, especially when we know how we want the story to end. It is difficult to surrender the pen and allow God to write my story according to His will.  But if I will do my job, God will do his.  If I will acknowledge Him, He will direct my paths. God help me stay on my side of the fence.
