As you can tell from looking at our schedule for early 2022, Dawn and I are speaking together at several churches. We call these weekends simply, A Weekend With Michael and Dawn.  God has been blessing in these meetings which consist of a Friday night Women’s Meeting, a Saturday morning Men’s Meeting, a Saturday night Couple’s Dinner, and a Sunday Revival Day. I am still preaching a number of Revival Meetings in 2022, but I am also thankful for the opportunities to do the weekends with Dawn.  We appreciate the ministry opportunities God is providing for Dawn.  She has had a busy year and is looking forward to what’s ahead.  We stand in awe that God continues to open doors for Revival for me, opportunities for Dawn to speak to women, and the invitations we receive to speak to couples. These ministries to women and couples are extensions of the call to take the Gospel to the lost and hurting.  We continue to seek His blessing… Thanks for praying.

We’ve had a busy year.  I have preached in fifty-two churches in 2021 which is amazing considering the pandemic restrictions.  Dawn spoke in twelve churches…and that’s a busy considering she works a full-time job, leads a monthly women’s Bible study, and travels with me as much as possible.  We are blessed and moving forward….

Michael Mason Ministries was created some thirty years as a means of accountability for me as I travel and preach.  Back then I recognized the importance of a board of directors that would pray for me, encourage me, and seek the Lord on my behalf.  I also recognized the importance of having bylaws and a budget…all of which are a means of accountability.  All these years later I am still traveling and preaching, trusting the Lord to open the doors and provide the financial means to take care of my family.  God has proven Himself faithful again and again.  While I am convinced it is God that provides for me… I also know He uses people.  So, thank you to those who have helped by praying, giving, and encouraging.  I have no intention of slowing down or doing anything else.  I am called to travel and preach the Good News of Jesus.  I thank the Lord for calling me and sending me…and I thank you for being a part of this ministry.

We are thankful for the ministry opportunities God is providing for Dawn.  She has had a busy year and is looking forward to what’s ahead in 2022.  Also, the Lord has opened several doors for us to speak to couples.  These ministries to women and couples are extensions of the call to take the Gospel to the lost and hurting.  We continue to seek His blessing… Thanks for praying.

This month I am including an excerpt from a message I’ve been preaching lately. It is titled Almost Saved from Acts 26:27-29…In Acts 24:25 Felix resisted the Gospel because of Inconvenience. There is the inconvenience of time but the greater inconvenience of change.      In Acts 26:24 Festus mocked Paul’s testimony because of Insanity.  There is the insanity of the resurrection but the greater insanity of Festus’ unbelief.  In Acts 26:28 Agrippa rejected salvation because of Indifference.  There is the indifference toward Paul but the greater indifference toward the Gospel.                                                                                              Almost home isn’t home. Might be a few minutes, a few miles, or even in view. But it’s not home. Almost saved isn’t saved. It might be good, sincere, or even baptized – But it’s not saved.                …Agrippa was almost saved…He almost believed. He almost trusted.  Almost surrendered.  But he wasn’t saved…26:27,“Agrippa, do you believe the scriptures? I know you believe.”                                          …Someone said the greatest tragedy is to die lost.  But I disagree.  The greatest tragedy is to die almost saved.  Knowing how and why…believing in Jesus and the Cross…and believing God had a plan for your life – yet never being saved. Almost Is A Powerful Word… Almost passed – Almost failed.  Almost won – Almost lost.  Almost lived – Almost Died.  But the greatest and saddest of all the almosts is to be almost saved..

This month I’m including a brief excerpt from a message I preached recently… Unbelieving Believers from James 2:14-26   I read that there are an estimated 3,500 Elvis impersonators worldwide.  Every day, worldwide approximately 3,500 people get up and pretend to be somebody they’re not. They dress like Elvis, sing his songs, and imitate his every move…but they are not Elvis…they’re simply impersonators.  I wonder how many people get up on Sunday morning and pretend to be somebody they’re not?  They dress the part, sing songs about the Lord, and agree with the sermon…but they’re still not saved. …James describes believers who have no evidence of a life changing encounter with Christ. These are possibly believers that once lived surrendered lives but something happened… These are also possibly folks who have never trusted Christ.  As a traveling preacher I have noticed four distinct categories of believers... 1) Believers who don’t really believe.  They are believers in name only.  2) Believers who don’t know what they believe.  Not grounded in God’s word and not growing in faith.  3) Believers who will believe anything. They believe in Jesus but they also believe in Buddha.  4) Believers who believe the Truth by faith - with the evidence of works. These are the born again, walking by faith, trusting in God, Spirit-led and prayerful.  God help us be believers who truly believe!!

This month I’m including an excerpt from my message, A Convenient Season - Acts 24:24-25.  Charles Templeton was once a great preacher.  He was known far and wide for his ability to communicate the Gospel.  He was also friends with Billy Graham before Graham was a household name.  But Templeton began to struggle with unbelief.  He eventually turned away from Christ claiming agnosticism.  Agnostics are not atheists believing there is no God. They simply believe one cannot know if there is a God.  When interviewed by Lee Strobel for A Case For Christ, Templeton was asked how he felt about Jesus.  At the time of the interview Templeton was already in his 80s.  He wept as he talked of how he admired Christ.  He then abruptly ended the interview by holding up his hand and saying, “enough of that.” In Acts 24, Felix, like Charles Templeton, said “enough of this.“  Felix wanted Convenience.  What he got was Conviction.  He turned down the offer good for eternity and chose instead to live for the moment.  Felix ended the sermon, not with an Amen but with a Not Now. What a sad story with a sad ending.  But the good news is clear, God has made a way for those who are looking for a way. He has given the opportunity to anyone will call on His name.  -Romans 10:13

This month I am including an excerpt from a message I’ve been working on about the Power-Plays of the Devil. In response to the Devil’s Power-Plays, we as believers have only two positions to take: The two Power-Positions Of The Believer are… Stand on the Word and Kneel in Prayer.  What do we do when the Enemy throws the book at us?  When we’re on the receiving end of a fiery dart from the Devil…When we’re on the front lines loving the Lord and living the life…what do we do? Stand On The Word…We like our preachers to stand on the Word.  We like for our president to quote the Word.  We even like a coach that believes the Word.  But what about us?  When the Devil begins to hurl fiery darts at us do we stand on the Word or run for our life?  The Word is a weapon…Hebrews 4:12 The Word is like a two edged sword…cuts both ways. Kneel In Prayer…We believe in prayer...especially before surgery.  We want someone to pray…when there’s been a tragedy.  We believe we need to pray for our nation. And for our families.  And for the sick.  But what about when we face the Enemy in battle?  Is there really power in prayer?  Psalm 95:6 “Come…let us kneel before the Lord our maker.”

May is a busy and blessed month.  I am grateful to be on the move, traveling and preaching.  June looks good too…I’m thankful for the open doors.  Thank you for your support through prayer, finances, and encouragement.  It’s one thing to preach about the sufficiency of God’s grace - It’s another to live it.  His grace is enough.

An excerpt from a message I’ve been working on titled, Giving The Devil A Place At The Table from Ephesians 4:27…Charles Spurgeon said, “I’d rather go to Heaven alone than go to Hell in a herd.”  We live in and see a herd-mentality today even among believers.  People are doing what everyone else is doing.  Believing what everyone else is believing.  Applauding what everyone else is applauding.  We have given place to the Devil.  With that in mind we must ask…how do we take back the place we’ve given the Devil?  How do we tear down these strongholds?  Put Off 4:22 Repent …Turn from living a life corrupted by deceitful desires. Repentance is necessary.  This is turning from a corrupted way of life and living by a conscience filled with the Spirit.  Put On 4:24 Renew… Put on your new self, clothed in righteousness and holiness… These are the garments in which God clothes you…you can’t buy these clothes – they are given by God.  Put Away 4:25 Resist…Put it aside, away…put it down.  Tearing down strongholds is never easy.  And Paul gives clear direction as to what needs to be put away…

Friends...

It’s amazing the difference a month can make.  Just last month as I was writing the newsletter I was concerned about what 2021 held for me as a traveling preacher.  But God has been faithful, the phone has been ringing, and the days ahead look brighter.  

I have tried to make the most of the down time during Covid.  As you know I completed a new book, Faithful, available for purchase on my website as well as Amazon.  Also, I have new music available on Pandora, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and most other music outlets.  Search for Michael Mason: Dawned On Me.  A hard copy CD can be purchased through my website also.  I hope you enjoy listening.  I have submitted to my publisher an updated re-write of a book I wrote several years ago, One Hope.  It should be released sometime late spring or early summer.  

I read about a man who, many years ago, took a trip by ship across the Atlantic ocean.  Not knowing what to expect, he packed his own food and saved every crumb fearing he would not have enough to make the journey. Upon arrival he was stunned to learn that his ticket included free meals every day in the dining hall on the ship. Little did he know, while eating in his room alone, he was missing the joy of eating at the banquet table - simply because he did not know it had already been paid for. ...Sounds like folks who are missing all that Jesus has bought and paid for – You don’t have to live life Not Knowing… “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life…” -1 John 5:13

Friends, 

So far 2021 has been a year of unrest…political unrest.  Racial unrest.  Economic unrest.  And even personal unrest.  Because of my unusual and un-busy preaching schedule I have battled with some unrest as well. I have spent many mornings in the Word and prayer refocusing on God and my willingness to trust Him.  I have been reminded of Jesus’ words to Martha and Mary after Lazarus had died and just before he was raised back to life.  Jesus said to them, “Whoever lives and believes in me shall never die…” Then He added, “Do you believe?” Did they believe? Did they believe in Jesus? Did they believe anything was possible?  Well, I haven’t lost a brother named Lazarus, but I have felt like I was losing my ministry.  I have affirmed and reaffirmed over the past few weeks I do believe.  I don’t understand and I don’t know what the future holds…but I absolutely believe.  I believe Him and I trust Him.  Completely.                                                                               …….I have new music available on Pandora, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and most other music outlets.  Search for Michael Mason: Dawned On Me.  I hope you enjoy listening.  I wrote all ten songs through seasons of hurt and hope.  My new book, Faithful, is available.  You can purchase it at Amazon, or order a copy at: michaelmasonministries.com.  I have completed a re-write of a book I published several years ago, One Hope.  I have sent it to the publisher and should be released sometime this spring.  

Last month I shared some thoughts about being thankful IN all things…This month We think about being thankful FOR all things. In Ephesians 5:20…Paul says, “give thanks always for all things…” Paul is speaking from an eternal perspective.  This is bigger than the Big Picture.  This is looking at the big picture with a bigger perspective.  As if I might pray, “Lord I thank you for it all even though I don’t understand it all or how you will use it all…but I trust you with it all and I thank you for it all.” This is us agreeing with Paul when he said, “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings…” I’m being formed by the potter’s hands into a vessel of honor – Jeremiah 18… I’m being transformed by the renewing of my mind Romans - 12:2… I’m being conformed to the image of Christ - Romans 8:29.  We have no choice in whether or not we face sickness and storms…but we do have a choice in how we respond.  We can thank Him for all things and trust Him to create “beauty from ashes”…Isaiah 61:3                                                                 ….If you’d like to have us speak at your church…We’re available for Revivals, Conferences, Retreats, and Special Events. Going forward into 2021 there is uncertainty as to what the days ahead hold.  The only thing we are certain of is God’s goodness and provision. My preaching schedule is far different than it was this time a year ago.  Discouraging?  Absolutely…But I am encouraged.  If the past is any prediction of the future I’ll be fine.  But I sure do miss preaching each week.  My new book, Faithful, is available.  You can purchase it at Amazon, or order a copy through my website: michaelmasonministries.com. My new music is completed.  CDs and digital downloads be available January 30. 

This month I’m including a brief excerpt from a message I preached recently.  It is titled, “In All Things…”  1 Thess. 5:16-18  Imagine giving thanks in all things - Paul is encouraging the extreme, above and beyond, more than typical faithfulness.  He says Rejoice Always.  Pray Without Ceasing.  Give Thanks In Everything.  Most of us rejoice in the good times but not bad times.  Most of us pray sometimes but not all the time.  Most of us give thanks in some things but not all things.

Paul says this is the Will Of God… What?  We tend to believe the will of God is only for big events, life events…but what if the small things were as much God’s will as the big things? What if the blessing at the table is as big as the invocation at church?

Giving Thanks IN everything will keep me from becoming arrogant.  Without practicing thanksgiving in seasons of pleasure and prosperity I might become arrogant believing I did it rather than giving God the credit. 

Giving Thanks IN everything will keep me from becoming bitter. Without practicing thanksgiving in seasons of pain and poverty I might become bitter blaming my pain on God.  And I might become envious of others simply because they’re not suffering like I am.  …Paul also said in Ephesians to give thanks for all things.  And he said in Romans we know all things work together for good…  And when we do, we can trust Him in the storm and trust Him for the answer.
