gRace

 Acts 2:39

Amazing isn’t it?  Race is such a big word…but add a small “g” at the beginning and suddenly everything changes.  Maybe we should have a talk about Grace relations more than Race relations.  Maybe we need some gracial tension in the midst of what has become racial tension.

gRace.  Call it the G-factor.  Call it amazing.  Grace was God’s idea to begin with.  He thought of it first.  First, the law came through Moses.  But then grace and truth came through Jesus (John 1:17).  Jesus is the answer in a world full of questions.

One of my favorite verses is Acts 2:39.  It describes, in no uncertain terms, who can receive God’s gift of grace and salvation. “This promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, and to as many as the Lord our God will call.”  Wow.  This simple verse covers race with grace.

Let’s be graceful today. I am not suggesting we live in a world where all is blue skies, sunshine, and birds singing.  But I am suggesting that God’s grace, alive in us, could bring much needed healing and forgiveness.  gRace…
