Michael Mason Ministries April 2018 News

Friends,
So thankful for your prayers, words of encouragement, emails, texts, and phone calls.  And I am grateful for a busy preaching schedule.  April and May are unusually busy - I’m looking forward to the weeks ahead.
As I mentioned last month…I’ll be headed back to El Salvador in May, twice more this fall, and I’ll also be a part of a pastors conference in Guatemala this fall. I am part of a ministry that is offering seminary training to pastors in El Salvador.  It is a work I feel called to help lead. Would you pray about helping me take this training to pastors in El Salvador?  Each trip, including the conference and airfare is approximately $2000.  I’m asking that you pray about it and then give as God leads you.  Thanks….
If you are interested in having me come speak at your church or church event I am available for revival meetings, harvest days, retreats, conferences, or any thing you may be planning where you need someone to present the Gospel message.

The Domino Effect of Sin

Genesis 3:1-8

In the Garden, one thing led to another.  It all began with the enemy questioning what God had said, which led to Adam and Eve doubting what God had said.  Call it the domino effect. Andy Griffith said it well, “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.”

The serpent began by asking a loaded question, “Has God said?” Sin originates in a mistrust of God.  Eve doubted God, trusting the words of the serpent rather than believing the words of the Lord.

The serpent then made a subtle suggestion saying, “You surely will not die.” If there are no consequences for your sin then why not do what you want?  Maybe he suggested the forbidden fruit wasn’t really forbidden.

Finally, the serpent got their attention by saying, “You will be like God!”  Just imagine the tempting thoughts of Eve, I’ll be happy, I can do anything I want, I can have anything I please!  Yes! Yes! Yes!  But the Devil is a liar.

If God is dishonest and the Bible is a fable then we can live as we choose.  But if the Devil is a liar and the Bible is true, then every knee will bow before Christ!  Billy Sunday said, “I believe there is a Devil for two reasons:  One, the Bible says so.  Two, I’ve done business with him.”
